This position will be responsible for revenue generation and “key account” management, and development and execution of sales plans for extended stay hotels within assigned West Coast region based out of Los Angeles, CA. This position direct sales efforts and train general managers to execute the Company’s sales strategy. Travel is expected for ~65% of the time.
The description is a summary of primary responsibilities and qualifications. The Job Description is not intended to include all duties or qualifications that may be required now or in the future. Hotels that are supported by the management company operate 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting times, and hours worked in a week.
  • Conduct sales training for General Managers and Front Desk personnel, consistent with policies and procedures set forth by Hotel Management & Consulting (HMC).
  • Frequent review and communication with General Managers regarding sales and marketing efforts, providing guidance and direction
  • Consistently prospect and solicit new and existing accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site visits and written communication.
  • Handle the interaction, selling and closing of group sales leads generated from the hotels. Develop new business for the hotel portfolio through lead generation, cold calling and other business development measures
  • Manage all aspects of the sales and marketing for assigned portfolio. Keen focus on business development for creating new incremental business to increase overall hotel revenue
  • Achievement of stringent targets, the job holder will be required to adopt a professional and knowledgeable approach to each new business call.
  • Fosters a positive and sales focused team attitude to all departments and maintains open communications with all team members and brand representatives for the best overall performance of the hotels.
  • Forge relationships and build rapport. Cultivate, enhance and leverage external and internal relationships to elevate hotel and market share awareness and drive business.
  • Develops/maintain knowledge of market trends, competition and customers.
  • Ensure RFP’s completed in a timely manner
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Minimum of three years Multi Unit / extended-stay experience
  • Extensive travel in the Southern California region and West Coast portfolio (65% of time is spent in field)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management preferred
  • Excellent people skills with the ability to lead and develop others
  • Reside in or relocate to regional location
  • High ethical standards, analytical ability, excellent communicator
  • Diverse experiences in sales, management, and administration
  • Computer literacy
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Ability to stand and move throughout, from, and to office, and continuously performs essential job functions.
  • Lifting up to 25 pounds maximum.
  • Occasional twisting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, sitting and using hands to fingers to feel/touch.
